A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Rod enjoyed time spent with his family and dogs, researching family and Civil War history, woodworking, camping, trips to the mountains, and working on old cars. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and his community. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Malinda Waites Murchison, are his two daughters- Kelly Brown and her husband, Don of Pinopolis; Claudia Keller and her husband, John of Overton; one son- Hugh Murchison and his wife, Anna of Pinopolis; one brother- Colin "Cam" Campbell Murchison of Virginia; Brother-in-law- Judge Rodney A.
