Hubert "Lex" Alexander Osterkamp Mt. Pleasant - Hubert "Lex" Alexander Osterkamp, Jr., 65, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Cindy Lee Smith Osterkamp, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, February 8, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, February 14, 2022, at East Cooper Baptist Church, 361 Egypt Road at 11:00 am, followed by interment in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel. Born in Charleston on March 5, 1956, Lex was the eldest son of the late Hubert A. Osterkamp, Sr. and the late Mary Ella Davis Osterkamp. He grew up on Johns Island and played quarterback at St. John's High School. He attended Baptist College on a full music scholarship, and also attended College of Charleston, studying business. He met his wife, Cindy, in Maryland, who describes him as a kind Southern gentleman and a knockout at home plate the first day she saw him playing baseball at a friend's cookout. Lex was co-owner of Palmetto Surfacing, Inc., enjoyed playing tenor saxophone for a band throughout Charleston, and worshiped at East Cooper Baptist Church. Above all, he delighted in his family and his Savior. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughter, Ashley; son, Brian, daughter-in-law, Allison, and granddaughter, Magnolia; siblings, Laura Genjian, Davis Osterkamp, Joseph Osterkamp, and James Osterkamp; and many treasured nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Graham Osterkamp.
