Howard Streets Obituary

Howard Allen Streets CHARLESTON - Howard Allen Streets, 75, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Brenda Kathleen Mangrum Streets, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 3, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Essex Village Church of Christ, 736 Savage Road at 3:00 pm. Interment will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Essex Village Church of Christ. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel. Howard was born August 20, 1948 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late James Edward Streets, Jr. and the late Dollie Mae Warner Streets. Howard was a proud US Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Howard retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard and enjoyed working in his own industrial machine shop business. As a classic car enthusiast, Howard loved restoring and driving cars at his leisure. He also enjoyed going to car shows and was a member of the local tractor club. Howard was baptized into the Church of Christ at an early age and was a devoted member for many years, including serving as an elder at the Essex Village Church of Christ for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Streets; two brothers, Henry (Jeanette) Streets of James Island, SC and Thomas (Lovette) Streets of Johns Creek, GA; daughter, Virginia Streets (William) Fowler of Charleston, SC; son, Howard Andrew (Natasha) Streets of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Streets, Abigail Streets, Jacob Streets, Evelyn Fowler, Naomi Fowler; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dollie Mae Streets, father, James Edward Streets, Jr. Memorials may be made to Essex Village Church of Christ. These donations will fund children's tuition to Palmetto Bible Camp. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.

Howard will be sorely missed. He was admired and respected by me and all that worked for me. Howard my buddy was helpful to me in the early days of my business and really throughout the many years we existed. My employees all loved howard for his stories of old and willingness to help and conquer yhe crazy things we came up with to try.
