Howard J. Silverstein CHARLESTON - Howard J. Silverstein, 71, of Charleston, SC, widower of Judith Cohen Silverstein, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 19, 2022. His funeral service will be held graveside Friday, October 21, 2022 in Emanu-El Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. Howard was born October 20, 1950 in Los Angeles, CA, son of the late Marty Silverstein and Gertrude Edell Silverstein. He graduated from Georgia Southern in 1974, where he played baseball and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Prior to relocating to Atlanta later in his life, Howard was a member of Synagogue Emanu-El, where he was an active member of the Men's Club. He spent most of his professional life involved in the recreation industry, predominately designing and installing commercial playground and outdoor equipment. Howard is survived by two sons: Robert Samuel Silverstein (Perri) of Cherry Hill, NJ and Brian Silverstein (Stephanie) of Columbus, GA; four grandchildren: Emma, Jackson, Julianna and Maddox. He was predeceased by his sister, Marley Rodgers.
