Howard J. Parkey SUMMERVILLE - Howard J. Parkey, 74, of Summerville, husband of Dale Wheat Parkey, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at Trident Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 6 to 8 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 1 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. Flowers will be accepted. Mr. Parkey was born February 25, 1942 in Drum, KY, son of the late Millard H. Parkey and Lillie Mae Taylor Parkey. He was of Baptist Faith. He was a US Navy Veteran and retired from Chemical Leaman Tank Lines as a truck driver. He was an avid fisherman. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him. Survivors, including his wife Dale, are one son and two daughters: Wendy R. Chavis (Van) of Anderson, SC, Timothy W. Parkey (Susan) of Edgewater, FL and Tracy A. Gotthelf (Jeff) of Fair Play, SC; six grandchildren: Ryan Chavis, Jonathon Gotthelf, Amber Rose Gotthelf, Niki Heavner (Mik Kamondi), Chris McCarty and Alan McCarty; five great-grandchildren; one sister: Jean Anderson; one half-sister: Glenda Phelps; and one brother: Edward Parkey (Fern).
