Howard Moore Obituary


MOORE, Howard Howard Nickson Moore, 46, of 803 Fairview Street, departed this life on September 17, 2005 at the Katie B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem, NC. He was born December 4, 1958 in High Point, NC. Howard is the son of Thomas Ervin and Dorothy Pullen Moore. He was a product of the public schools of High Point, graduating from High Point Central High School, class of "77". He attended NC AT&T State University froim 1977 to 1979 and graduated from Gupton Jones Mortuary School of Science in 1980. He was co-owner of Moore's Funeral Service. At an early age, Howard joined Memorial United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Men's Choir and the United Methodist Men. He was last employed by Hargett Funeral Service as a Mortician and Funeral Director. He devoted much of his time in serving his community by counseling youth and young adults. Survivors are his parents, Thomas Ervin and Dorothy Pullen Moore; two daughters, Tameshia McFadden of Charlotte, NC and Latisha (Anothy) McQueen of High Point, NC; one step-son, Brandon Sharpe of High Point, NC; five sisters, Thomasine E. Moore of Jacksonville, NC, Earline (Curtis) Richardson of Greensboro, NC, Rita Littles O'Neill of Charleston, SC, Charlsie R. Moore and Burnetta L. Moore of Jamestown, NC; four grandchildren, Caelin, Amaia, Ryan, and Jessica McQueen of High Point, NC; his godmother, Doris Coleman of High Point, NC, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Williams Memorial CME Church on Triangle Lake Road with Rev. Jesse Keaton of Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Carolina Biblical Gardens in High Point, NC. The family will host relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial CME Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC or the Carl Chavis YMCA, 2757 Granville Street, High Point, NC 27263. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of his parents at 211 Vail Street, High Point, NC and the home of his sister, Charlsie R. Moore at 6607 Ivy Stone Drive, Jamestown, NC.
