Hollis Chandler Obituary

Our condolences and prayers are with family and friends. Albert C. Chandler was my father.

I send my heartfelt condolences to the family at this very difficult time. I live next door to Hollis' sister in North Charleston. May you feel the presence of God's love round you during these mournful days.

I am sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I remember you speaking fondly of him on many occasions. Please accept my condolences.

An exceptional man, I will always remember my grandfather. We had many adventures together. His lessons will be remembered, and above all his humor and love of family. I am forever grateful for everything he has done. I can't wait for the day I will see him again; and to quote one of his famous sayings:

"What did the monkey say when he got his tail cut off?

Won't be long now! :)"

Just know that all the Chandlers throughout the USA are praying for the blessed comfort that only our Lord and Savior can bring. I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep your family in my prayers. I am just another Chandler through the Joell Chandler line.

May we offer the condolences of Anne and Dickie Chandler (Son of Oliver C Chandler, Brother of James Manuel Chandler, Hollis' Dad). I am in constant contact with Woodrow's sister in N. Chas'n. Please accept our sympathy on your loss.

Mr. Chandler was a man who served his country with great dedication, loved his family with all his heart, and served God and the church. It was my great honor to have known him. As a very young man in his teens, he went off to war to serve his country in WWII. His two daughters were the apples of his eye. His grandchildren were truly his life treasures with whom he could never have enough time. His great-grandchildren were his legacy with whom he always took so much joy and pleasure. He truly believed in God and the church; he was always willing to help anybody who needed him. We will miss him greatly.
