Unfortunately its been years, and im just finding out on yesterday that you were gone. My heart broke because I couldnt believe it. Everything that everyone has said about you, was just how I remembered you 24 years ago. Rest on my friend.....

Hershal, you are an awesome guy, that smile I adored though your stay in Charlotte was short; you touched us all in such a big way, as if you were here all the time embracing every family member as if you've known them a lifetime. I'm going to miss you and my heart is so heavy for your mother and father and all the special hearts you touched. I never heard you complain ? I'm so glad I followed my heart that Thursday morning, I got to see that smile one last time; even though you were in the hospital, you encouraged me! You told me “I am a fighter I got it from both sides of my family.” I know you did fight, and you don't have to fight anymore it's all over and the battle has been won. I will rejoice knowing you are a believer and with God you will rest. Love you always Cousin.

I was able to see and talk to my cousin before he went home with the lord. The last time I spoke with him was on Dec.19, 2012 and I was able to tell him I love him. Rest with God my sweet Angel, and my love flies high with you. To the family May your Hearts be at Peace, and know that Herschel is at Peace and is no longer in pain. Love you all.

It just hurts to know that there's going to be no more visits from you, no more being able to see or call you. Your pain is over "cuzo". Your truely loved and will surely be missed.

I am so saddened to hear of Herschel's passing! Herschel was always very kind. Remember the great times you shared with him. It will get hard at times but know that you can cast your cares upon the Lord because he cares for you. Trust that God will ease your pain and help comfort your hearts during these grievous times. It may not happen the first month or year but God is able and willing to bring the understanding you need. Be encouraged and I will continue to lift up your family in prayer.

A great painter who painted his emotions on a wall.Painting was his life. He painted with perfection. Never wanted you to worry about his worries. A great father who wanted the best for his sons. Always made you laugh even when you wasn't in such a great mood.Whats more to say. Herschell a solid man who will always remain a godfairing man.
