Herman Wilczewski Obituary

WILCZEWSKI, Herman

Herman Jerome Wilczewski, 82, of James Island, the widower of Dorothy Jewell Matthewes Wilczewski, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 18, 2007. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, a son of Josef Mikel Wilczewski and Mary Ann Krantz Wilczewski on Monday, January 28, 1924. Mr. Wilczewski honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was a Boilermaker with Local Union 687 for 32 years. Mr. Wilczewski was a long time member of The Church of the Nativity on James Island. A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 445 and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening Roses and loved all animals. Mr. Wilczewski is survived by five daughters, Marie and Wayne Holt of Jacksonville, FL, Virginia and Lloyd Roberts of Ravenel, SC, Colleen and Ron Brown of Lexington, SC, Gail and Michael Hale of Monks Corner, SC, Dorothy and George Ellis of James Island, SC; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Richardson, Richard Brewer, Jr., Jerry Brewer, Robert Brown, Allison Wilgus, John Ellis, Josef Ellis; fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. he was predeceased by a son, Michael Jerome Wilczewski and a daughter, Irene Elaine Wilczewski. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a Vigil Service at 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The relatives and friends of Mr. Herman Jerome Wilczewski are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 22, 2007 at The Church of the Nativity, 1016 Folly Rd., James Island. The Rite of Committal will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Outreach, PO Box 607, John's Island, SC 29457. Arrangements are by the JAMES A.
