Herbert Watkins Obituary
WATKINS, Herbert Herbert Allen Watkins, 79, of North Charleston, SC, a retired photographer, died March 15, 2008 after a brief illness at a hospital in Charleston, SC. Born October 25, 1928 in Florida, Herb grew up in the Mount Holly area and was a graduate of Berkeley High School. He served in the US Navy. He had his own greenhouse and enjoyed gardening. The mountains were his favorite place. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jimmie Sue Cannon, and her husband Randy of North Charleston; his life companion Pat Rice of North Charleston, her son Allen and his wife Alice, and her daughter Tricia and her husband Craig; four grandchildren: Jonathan, Michael, Sabastian and Zoe. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 7:00-9:00PM. Outside of my family, Herb was the closest friend I have ever had.We spent many evenings drinking Waffle House coffee and "solving" the problems of the world!! I believe that between us, we could have done just that,too!!!
My hearts aches for all of his family.May God hold you all close and ease your suffering.

John,I and Herb spent many hours together taking pictures Christmas at Pinehaven years ago with the Santa Claus Trailer. Herb was an exceptional kind and thoughtful person, who was admired by all that met him. Herb was a dear friend.
