Herbert Sperber Obituary

1936 ~ 2012
Herbert Sperber passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22, 2012. He was born July 20, 1936 in Königsberg, East Prussia to Theodor and Lina Sperber. He graduated from college in Dusseldorf and played soccer for Fortuna Dusseldorf.
He served a building mission in Frankfurt, Germany for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an active High Priest.
He was a journeyman welder and supervised the construction of several buildings in the Salt Lake area. His lifetime hobby was racing pigeons. He was a master chess and ping pong player. For Herbert, no one was a stranger. He loved to share the gospel at any moment and was a lifetime missionary. He was never afraid to open his mouth.
He is survived by his wife Ingrid, his children, Miriam (Ranleigh) Fleshman, Rebecca (Todd) Lemmon, Matthew (Kelly), Deborah (Rob) Andersen, one brother and four sisters. He has fourteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday Oct. 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the Taylorsville 33rd ward, 2976 W Winchester Dr, West Valley City
