Herbert Gorod CHARLESTON - Herbert Gorod, 68, of Charleston, husband of Lynn Hyman Gorod, entered into eternal rest July 10, 2015. His graveside service will be held Sunday, July 12, 2015 in Emanu-El Cemetery, Sycamore Avenue, Maryville at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Herbert was born March 21, 1947 in New York, son of the late Rabbi Louis Gorod and the late Henrietta Gorod. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather, son and son-in-law. After graduate school in Ohio I worked in Charleston for the summer of 1971 while trying to decide my next step. Herb and I became friends and enjoyed many good conversations and activities. I decided to move then to Atlanta on his recommendation, and have been happy here ever since. I only today did a first time search and to my surprise, found his obituary. I'm sad about his having passed on ten years ago, but so happy he was beloved and had such a good, fulfilling life . Reading his obituary brings back warm, summer fun memories of water and sand adventures, and I am grateful for having spent that time of connection with him. Thank you, Herb, for that, and for your super Atlanta recommendation.
Eternal Blessings to you, Your '71 Charleston summer friend, Susanna
