Henryk Sawicki Obituary

Henryk Sawicki, 72, of Larksville passed away Friday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

He was born on July 10, 1934, in Poland, son of the late Stanislwa and Adela Sawicki. He was raised, educated and served in the military in Poland. He came to the United States in the late 1970s, settling in New York City.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville, and was active with the annual parish bazaars. He was a member of the Polish American Sunshine Singers. Prior to his retirement, he was a master carpenter who performed custom and general home improvements.

He is survived by sons, Richard Ryszard and Andre Andrezej; three brothers, Marian, Tadeusz and Stanislaw. Also, his loving partner of many years, Bertha Brogan, and her sons, Patrick, Clement, Thomas and James Brogan. He was also survived by grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 12:30 p.m., from S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., in St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville. Interment will be in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Larksville. Friends may call Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville.
