Henry Duys Obituary

DUYS, Henry The relatives and friends of Henry M. Duys, Jr. are invited to attend a memorial service at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Two O'clock. Interment will be private. Mr. Duys was born in Montclair, NJ, October 17, 1924, the son of Henry M. Duys, Sr. and Helen Howard Duys. He was President of H. Duys and Company, Inc., and was a WWII veteran. Mr. Duys was a member of the 1948 Olympic Sailing Team. Surviving are his wife Virginia of Hollywood, SC; 1 son, Henry M. Duys, III and his wife Susan of Brooklyn, NY; 1 daughter, Lizabeth Conover Lewellen and her husband Quinton of Atlanta GA; step-daughter, Jacqueline Ann Nauta of Fairfield, CT; step-son, Pieter Frederik Nauta and his wife Elaine of Purcellville, VA; 2 sisters, Rebecca Johnson of Vero Beach, FL, and Tiny Smith of Syosset, NY; 1 brother, David F. Duys of Philadelphia, PA; and 6 grandchildren. Mr. Duys was preceded in death by his son, Noah Ogden Duys. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Parkinson Disease Foundation, 60 Bay Street, Suite 3401, Staten Island, NY 10301, or to The Roper Foundation, 69 Barre Street, Charleston, SC 29401 A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website, www.jhenrystuhr.com.
