Henry Lee "Pee Wee" Burris CHARLESTON, SC - Henry Lee "Pee Wee" Burris, 79, of Charleston, formerly of Florence, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010, in a Charleston hospital after an illness. Mr. Burris was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late Henry Lee and Maude Floyd Burris. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and worked in construction. He loved baseball and softball. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred Frances Burris; two sons, Anthony Lee Bernard Burris and Henry Lee "Buck" Burris; brother, Frank Burris and sister, Virginia Johnson. Surviving are his son, Damon Burris of Myrtle Beach, SC; loving companion, Lanell Matthews of Florence and her children, Harold (Beverly) Matthews and Connie (Andy) Fike along with their families; niece, Teresa (Charlie) Stoeppler of Charleston; grandchildren, Randin Lawrimore, Addison Fike, Brooke Tindal and Chelsea Stoeppler. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, September 25, 2010, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens. To the family of Henry Burris. I didn't not know that Henry had passed, untill after the services had come and gone. I will remember him as the kind and gentle man.I enjoyed the number of times, I was in his company when I visited Lanell. He will be missed. The family will be in my prayers. To the family of Pee Wee, this is from Jo Rabon Finklea, Bryan Rabon and Christy Rabon Ruffner, my family shared alot of good memories with Fran, Damon and Anthony. We car pooled those early years of our children. Pee Wee was a very enjoyable man and will be missed. Damon and Teresa my greatest sympathy goes out to you two.
