Traci "DJ Sassylady" Heyward-Jones
April 21, 2025
Let us hold dear those we care for, embracing life's uncertainty and death's inevitability. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Henrietta "Redda" Smalls-Chisolm, owner of the renowned Sassylady Lounge, has entered into eternal rest.
She was an extraordinary individual, always offering guidance and wisdom. Her legacy will live on through the unforgettable fried chicken and warm hospitality at the Sassylady Lounge. She supported and encouraged me throughout my journey, from Mortuary School to becoming an Elk and launching my music career as a DJ. Hence my DJ name. I was even fortunate enough to have had a room in her home. Rest in peace, Mrs. Henrietta Smalls-Chisolm. You were a mother, sister, and friend to countless individuals, including myself. Your love and presence will be deeply missed. Your shining spirit has illuminated our world, and though you may be gone, your impact will endure. Sleep peacefully, our beloved Sassylady.
