Helen Spann Obituary

SPANN, Helen Helen Henderson Spann, 72, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Friday evening in a Charleston hospital. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday afternoon, June 16, 2006, in the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Thursday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the MUSC Children's Hospital, 171 Ashley Ave., Charleston, SC 29425, or to the First Baptist Church, 112 East Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mrs. Spann was born Nov. 19, 1933, in Seneca, SC, a daughter of George M. Henderson and Blanche Richey Henderson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Mrs. Spann was preceded in death by two brothers, George M. Moose Henderson and James E. Bud Henderson and a sister, Olivia Henderson Sherard. Surviving are, her husband, John M. Spann, Jr.; four daughters, Carolyn Utt and her husband, Bill, of Houston, TX, Grace Olivia Spann of Mt. Pleasant, Rhonda Delusa and her husband, Michael, of Mt. Pleasant, and Belinda Bauman and her husband, Wayne, of Papua New Guinea; a son, John Mattison Jack Spann, III, and his wife, Debbie, of Wilmington, NC; three sisters, Mickey Henderson of Moncks Corner, Sandra Matthews and her husband, Curtis, of Moncks Corner, and Amelia DeWitt and her husband, Wayne, of Goose Creek; twelve grandchildren, Billy, John, and Linden Utt all of Houston, TX, Olivia and Amelia Henderson and Joanna, Michael, and Mattie Delusa all of Mt. Pleasant, Grace, Helen, Caleb, and Jeremiah Bauman all of Papua New Guinea; sisters-in-law, Linden Spann Dunaway and her husband, Marshall, of Thomasville, GA, Grace N. Henderson of Moncks Corner, and Barbara Henderson of Dillon; a brother-in-law, Donald P. Spann and his wife, Sandie, of Douglasville, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
