Helen Theresa Smith SUMMERVILLE - Helen Theresa Smith, 90, of Summerville, South Carolina, wife of SMSGT James L. Smith, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Her graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in the Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel. Helen was born October 11, 1934 in West Palm Beach, Florida, daughter of the late Earl V. Sims and the late Nellie T. Quinn Sims. She was an avid artist, loved gardening, and modeled in West Palm Beach. She worked for the City of Charleston for 17 years and volunteered for Hotline. Her enthusiasm for adventure and joy will be missed. In addition to her husband of 68 years, she is survived by daughter, Mary L. Kemble (Maj Gen Richard) of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren: Devon Grant (Benjamin) of Summerville, SC and Anthony Kemble of KY; great-grandson, Colton Grant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Gail Smith and brother, Thomas Sims, esquire.
