Helen Allen Hall JOHNS ISLAND - Mrs. Helen Allen Hall, 95, of Charleston SC, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024. Born to the late Lloyd and Beulah Allen, Helen was a native of North Carolina, growing up in Edenton, NC and graduating from Louisburg College. For much of her career, Helen worked in the banking industry with Wachovia in Greenville, NC, where she met her husband of 58 years, Robert "Bob" J. Hall. Nearly 45 years ago, Helen and her family made a home in Charleston, SC, where she retired from the College of Charleston. In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Hall; brother, Doug Allen; and daughter, Nancy Avery. She is survived by a son, Allen Hall and wife, Kathy of Johns Island, SC; brother-in-law, Joseph Hall of Raleigh, NC; son-in-law, Mitchell Avery, Jr. of High Point, NC; grandchildren: Taylor Allen Hall, Ainsley Avery Royals (Steve), Jennifer Avery Mier (Stacy), and Julie Avery; and great-grandchildren: Carter Tyree, Caroline Avery, and Savannah Royals. We would also like to extend a warm thank you to the family who has provided care and friendship to Helen for so many years (Lucille, Theresa, Janice and many others). Helen will be fondly remembered for her love of family and friends. She enjoyed travel, serving on the Headquarters Plantation HOA, and many who know her best knew she loved shopping and was always dressed to perfection. A loving daughter, wife, sister, grandmother and friend, Helen will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved her. A memorial in her honor will be held on Sunday, June 2, in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. A graveside service will be held in Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville, NC (date and time to be determined). A brief viewing will be held in advance at Wilkersons Funeral Home in Greenville, NC.
