Helen Gwin Obituary

Helen Juanita Gwin, age 85, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away Wednesday evening at her residence. Arrangements will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. Mrs. Gwin was born on March 29, 1940, in Sheridan, AR, and was the daughter of Otha Glenn Gwin and Mattie Lee Jackson Dickey. She retired from a career spanning over forty years as a waitress at Piccadilly Cafeteria and was a graduate of Sheridan High School. Mrs. Gwin was devoted to her family, regularly hosting gatherings and thoughtfully preparing birthday cakes for each member's special occasion. Beginning her family life at an early age, she became a dependable source of support during challenging times, always accessible to loved ones. Mrs. Gwin was known for her willingness to support others and her consistently positive demeanor. She was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Gillette, and her grandson, Lee Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Virginia "Ginger" Fastiggi and husband Richard of Moncks Corner; her son, Charles Lee Thompson and wife Jan of Kiln, MS; three grandchildren: Sasha Dostal, Sara Fastiggi, and Jacob Thompson; four great-grandchildren: Amber Perritte, Ivey Dostal, Alexis Mitchell, and Jayden Mitchell; two great-great-grandchildren: Alyvea Gentile and Avery Gentile; and one additional great-great-grandchild expected soon.
