Randy,Velma,Donald,Ray,Edward and all of the family of Helen: We are greatly saddened by the news of Helen's passing. It's been several years since we've seen Helen but the smile that she always had still remains etched in our mind. She was surely a devoted and dedicated lady to Mt. Olivet Church and did it because she enjoyed doing it. May the Lord give you all strength and peace during this time. Randell & Pat Blackman

Randy and Velma,Mama has been keeping me posted on Helen's condition. I know what a hard time this is for both of you and what a void in your life her death leaves. I am so glad she made the trip for Aunt Edna's party in Walterboro. She was Leon's co-pilot and I think she enjoyed her day. I know we did!! My prayers are with you and all of the family. May God Bless you. Love, Kathy Hogan

How can I share all the good memories I have of Helen. She was one of a kind. She was surely a devoted wife and mother. She loved her church, Mount Olivet Baptist under the Screven Association. She loved to minister to others besides her family by cooking wonderful meals and inviting anyone who would to stop by her house on Sundays after church or anytime. There was always good food on Helen's table and kindness and love to share as well. She loved doing the bulletins at the church. She was proud of the work she did for the Lord. She would hobble up the steps every Sat. morning and run the bulletins off for Sunday....for many years she did that with a joy in her heart. She always loved to sing in the choir until she was unable to stand for long periods. She would announce the songs and look over to me at the organ or to Brenda at the pianist and smile as she awaited the introductions. I have tapes of her singing around the organ and she had a smile on her face. I will miss her sharing her menus and recipes with me. She didn't travel far in her life here but she is at a wonderful destination today that has been awaiting her for a job well done to a good and faithful servant. We love her and her family.
