I had known Helen from my early enlisted days in Charleston. I met her along with her 2nd husband Ben at Holy Cross on Sullivan's Island. She and Ben treated me like I was one of their own. Ben was Best Man at my wedding in Dec 1989. She was a wonderful woman and brought happiness to everyone she met. Her sense of humor was something else, she could say more with a look than anyone else I've met. I was sad to have lost touch with her. Her memory will be with me always.

We loved Helen and she loved us back. We lived In Charleston from April 2012-May 2013. We met Helen through the Holy Cross on Daniel Island. Helen was always so kind, caring and helpful to my wife Christina and I. We looked forward to sharing a pew with her each Sunday and I will always fondly remember her and I as ushers and helping with the collection.
We look forward to meeting her again in Heaven!
Love, Jason and Christina (Julia) Ellert
