Heather Stephens Obituary

Heather Ann Stephens SUMMERVILLE - Heather Ann Stephens, 48, of Summerville, SC, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, in her home surrounded by family. Heather was born on October 21, 1972, in Cleveland, OH, a daughter to George Walter Jurand and Christine Nancy Jurand. She graduated from the College of Charleston in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology and married Richard Marshall Stephens of Summerville, SC, in 2003. She was a loving wife and proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Savannah Lee Stephens and Charlotte Ann Stephens. She adored her children and loved spending time with her family and her dog, Freya. She had a passion for the Middle Ages, art, reading, pop-culture, classic movies, squirrels, gardening and decorating for the holidays. She was creative, outgoing, lively, and had a great sense of humor. She had an infectious laugh and always made friends wherever she went. She was an amazing advocate for children and was an active member of the PTA and Student Improvement Council at Flowertown Elementary School, where her efforts contributed to the school winning the Riley Award for Student Improvement Councils. She will be sorely missed by her husband and daughters of Summerville, SC; her father, George Walter Jurand of Amherst, VA; her brother, Jason Michael Jurand of Mount Pleasant, SC; and her sister, Elizabeth Ann Stagg of North Charleston, SC. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Christine Nancy Jurand. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston

My heart breaks to announce that my sister, Heather Stephens (Jurand), passed away this Tuesday (September 7). She was the mother of two beautiful daughters, Savannah and Charlotte, and beloved wife to Richard. We are devastated.

Please say a prayer for her worthy soul as she is reunited with our mother, Christine Jurand, and previously departed loved ones in our Lord´s kingdom. Pray also for a broken-hearted husband and two little girls.

As her younger brother, I´ve lost my first role model and I´m broken.
