Hazel Morgan Obituary

Hazel Morgan HANAHAN - Hazel Burton Morgan, 72, of Hanahan, South Carolina, wife of Edward Thurston Morgan, Jr. entered into eternal rest Sunday, November 3, 2013. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2013, in Ashley River Baptist Church, at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy.) from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Hazel was born May 3, 1941 in Anderson County, South Carolina, daughter of Carol Burton and Edna Ownbey Burton. She retired from the Charleston County School District as a teacher having taught at Garrett High School, Bonds Wilson High School and North Charleston High School. She was a member of Ashley River Baptist Church. Hazel is survived by her husband of 48 years, of Hanahan, SC; two daughters, Kelly M. Epting (Joseph) of Irmo, SC, Amy M. Walters (David) of Daniel Island, SC; two brothers, Harold Burton (Milwea), Charles Burton (Juanita) both of Honea Path, SC; a sister, Betty Joyce Ashley (Billy) of Donalds, SC; six grandchildren, Katherine Epting, John Epting, Benjamin Epting, Emily Walters, Mitchell Walters, Morgan Walters; and a sister-in-law, Faye Burton of Honea Path, SC. She is predeceased by her brother, Joe Burton. Memorials may be made to Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29407. Hazel was a good friend. Could talk to her about anything... So sorry that we couldn't make it to the service. We tried but our car broke down after 80 miles in that direction. Tut, Kelly and Amy, we are thinking of you. Loved Hazel and love you all.
