Hazel Frances Phillips Hancock RALEIGH, NC - Hazel Frances Phillips Hancock, entered into eternal rest on the evening of November 4, 2011 in Raleigh, NC. She was married to James Oscar Hancock, Sr. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. James Oscar Hancock, Sr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter, Thursday, November 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC. Inurnment, Bethany Cemetery. Mrs. Hancock was born July 20, 1932, in Hickory, NC, the daughter of Oliver Phillips and May Belle Prevatte Phillips. She served in the United States Army between 1950 and 1953, and worked as a registered nurse for most of her life. She is survived by her husband of Raleigh, NC; three daughters: Lisa Gomes (Vernon), Sabrina Williams (Keith) and Linda Medina (Fernando); one son: James Hancock, Jr. (Cynthia); three granddaughters: Kathryn Williams, Faith Hancock and Daisy Medina; three grandsons: Jesse Leung, Dillan Gomes, and Joshua Hancock.
