Dear Mama, Its so hard to be saying good bye. You have and always be so dear to my heart, as my second mom, your grace and love has always been so true. I treasure precious memories and the years you gave me. You have given me my beautiful family and I will always honor and hold you so close to my heart. May God Bless you and comfort all of your children with his blessing and comfort as only he can. I love you very much.

Your love and grace has been so true and I am so grateful for you as you have given me such a wonderful life and children. I hold you close to my heart always. To the beloved children of the beloved Mother, and my Aunt Hazel,
I wish there were magic pills or magic words to help assuage the pain and grief you are all feeling right now. I already asked (4 years minus 1 day before) and there are none. There's just so little family and friends can say at a time like this. We want to be helpful, but what everyone has always heard and really do know in our hearts to be true, time and faith are the only things that will carry us through.
Four years after Mom went to Heaven and I still want to ask her about a recipe. And 8 years after Pop's been gone, I need his advice on everything. I know my Davis brothers were more connected with your Davis brothers, but I remember plenty of good times as I was growing up playing at your house. And Aunt Hazel was the backbone of all that enjoyment. What a fine lady. She could say almost anything and make me laugh, she was just too cute. She was the last of the last...she surely had staying power. What a strong lady she was. And to raise all you kids? That is staying power and strength. What gets me through is knowing that I'll see Mom again and when I do she won't be in a wheelchair or be hurting. Of course my prayers are with you, but the most important thing is that God has his eye on each and every one of you. He'll be with you every step of the way. I don't know how to say whats in my mind and whats in my heart in a few words. The memories seem to flood so fast. You have been an inspiration to me to be the kind of Mother and Grandmother I work to be. I loved your hard hand when you were younger and I loved your stories when you got older. You took such good care of your family and in return God took such good care of you. You were so graceful and loving to the end. Rest in Peace my beautiful Grandmother. Kiss Papa and my other 2 Grand Parents up there. In my heart always,love you.

How blessed she was to have such a fine and loving family. It is no wonder she lived such a long and healthy life. She was very fortunate to be surrounded by so many loving hearts. She will be missed.
