I always felt that Mrs. Belk was a person who truly cared about other people more than herself. She was a wonderful human being and I will miss our conversations. Lucinda Shields, Columbia, SC

I am sad to hear of the passing of Hazel. She was my 6th grade teacher at Orange Grove Elementary School and was a wonderful teacher of which I have many fond memories. I also up in Sandhurst and was a neighbor of the family too.
In deepest sympathy,

I was so saddened to read of Hazel's death. I spoke with her several times a few years ago when Mary Lou Griffen was sick and died. She was a good friend when she lived in Charleston and I'm sorry we didn't keep in touch. My thoughts and prayers are with the Belk children and their families. Shirley Bledsoe
