Hatsuko Autrey Obituary

Hatsuko Autrey MONCKS CORNER - Hatsuko Autrey, 71, of Moncks Corner, passed away May 16, 2012. Born in the village of Heshikiya, Island of Okinawa, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Ushi and Haru Amakawa and wife to John Autrey, who she met in Japan and married at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. She was a naturalized citizen of the United States and lived in the United States for forty two years. Mrs. Autrey loved to garden, sew, and play with her dog, Pepper. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, John Autrey, son, Robert Autrey and wife Jennifer of North Charleston, daughter, Jennifer Deman and husband Lucas of Daniel Island, sister, Fusako Nakazato and husband Kenichi of Okinawa, Japan. Mrs. Autrey is also survived by her two grandchildren, Joshua and Gabriel Autrey. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL, 869 St. James Avenue. The family will receive friends prior from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held Monday, May 21, 2012.
