Harry Woodbury Obituary

WOODBURY, Sr, Harry GEORGETOWN - Harry Edward Woodbury, Sr., 91, died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Prince George Healthcare. Mr. Woodbury was born in Marion Co. on February 26, 1917, a son of the late William J. Woodbury and Etta Hucks Woodbury. He served as Chief Petty Officer in the Navy during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Mr. Woodbury retired from the Woodlands Division of the International Paper Company in 1980. He was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church. Mr. Woodbury was predeceased by: his wife, Helen Cannon Woodbury; and a step-son, Gregg Duke. Surviving are: a son, Harry Woodbury, Jr. and his wife Susan of Georgetown; two step-sons, Thomas Duke and his wife Beth of Georgetown and Billy Duke and his wife Marilyn of Orange Park, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Margie Duke of Georgetown; a brother, Billy P. Woodbury of Georgetown; two sisters, Edith W. Williams of Conway and Elaine D. Hawley of Georgetown; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be eleven o'clock, Wednesday morning, July 23, 2008, at Wayne United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen R. Jordan.
