Harry, My memories were mostly from our wonderful teen years and the good trouble we all got into. But now I have met your daughter at your funeral, met up with old friends to talk about you, read the loving memories from all those who so loved you, and seen the references to your steady smile and persistent optimism. My heart aches upon hearing of Harry's passing and my mind reflected on youthful days growing up in Charleston. Harry was good looking, kind and fun. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Having known Harry and Diane through our shared insurance careers, I was shocked to hear about his untimely death. I will certainly miss his wit and wisdom. Seeing the two of them together at the classes and conferences we attended was always a special occasion for me personally and I will miss him very much as I know Diane and his family will also. RIP Harry!

My time with Harry was as a teenager and the dominant picture that comes to mind is Harry's wit and mischievous smile, his meticulousness and always-present warmth. I know how missed he already is. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Friends can be hard to make, but my friendship with Harry and the Palmers was easy and immediate.
While visiting with Harry soon after he got home from rehab in Atlanta, I asked how he was able to manage all the trials and travails of this dramatic impact to his life.
"Faith and family, " he said, flashing that Palmer smile. I was, and continue to be inspired by that response.
Harry, I hope that you've found that perfect swell, and are having a fantastic eternal ride. I also hope I get to paddle out with again someday.

Shirley and I were saddened to learn of Harry's death. We learned of it too late to attend visitation or the funeral. We do wish to extend to you our heart felt sympathy and to let you know how much we have missed seeing you and Harry since his tragic accident. I always looked forward to your visits for our various meetings, they were always a joy.

To know you was an opportunity for friendship. To be your friend has been a privilege and a joy. You never thought of yourself as an inspiration, surely never sought to be such, but you have been so to many. Your way of warmth and welcome, through times good and times horrific, are virtues worth emulating. You have been generous with these gifts, Harry, coming through you from a loving God, serving to bless many and to reflect Him.

So very sorry to hear about Harry. I have known the family since they lived on Adams Creek before they moved to Brigger Hill. Thanks to dad Jim, the Palmer kids always had neat things to play with like the fort which looked like it came from a western movie. I think Harry took after mom Pat in that he was outgoing, friendly and always had a kind word. He was a great fellow and will be truly missed.

You were truly a genuinely sweetheart,with an amazing spirit! As your caregiver, a friend, we shared many stories,series of movies/films! We laughed, had some tear jerkers. As your caregiver,it was an honor to be there for your and your loving family. May God bless and keep the Palmer family
