My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole Johnson family.
Captain Harry and my dad were good friends. My dad and mom use to have Captain Harry over for breakfast at my parents Condo at Toler's cove on some occasions. I myself have only meet Captain Harry a couple of times.
What a wonderful person he was.

A truly monumental loss to the community! I can remember, as a child of 6 years old, watching expectantly with Binoculars from my porch at the beach house for the Petrel to come through the jetties. I would jump on my bike and ride as fast as I could to Ben Sawyer Marina (Tolers) to greet them when they came in. Harry was always engaging me and encouraged my curiosity. When I was 11 he took my father and I offshore and I caught my first dolphin. From that moment on I was hooked! I will never forget Captain Harry and I will always be honored to have known him. See you on the rip Harry!

With Son´s passing Charleston has lost yet another icon. He was a true gentleman as well as being an honorable businessperson, philanthropist, conservationist, and incredible fisherman. I remember as a child the pride he showed when he caught a tarpon near the jetties - a feat very few people had accomplished at that time. My thoughts and prayers are with all members of the family.
Sincerely,
John Rivers
