Harrison Mitchell Obituary

Harrison Mitchell SUMMERVILLE - Harrison Mitchell, 76, of Summerville, husband of Mary (Brown) Mitchell, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his residence. Friends and family may call at St. John AME Church, 4326 Betsy Kerrison Parkway, Johns Island, on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 11 o'clock until the hour of service. Funeral services will begin at 12 o'clock PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Harrison was born on February 20, 1940 in Johns Island, SC, son of the late Moses Mitchell and Addie Simmons. He graduated from Johns Island High School. He retired from JP Morgan & Chase Company in New York and was also a retired pastor. He enjoyed fishing. Surviving including his wife Mary are: six children, Harrison Mitchell, Jr., Cynthia Mitchell, Harriet Mitchell, Stephanie Mitchell, all of New York, and Jason Mitchell and Darnelle Nicks, both of Summerville, SC; several grandchildren; brother, James Mitchell of Columbus, GA, two sisters, Anna Lee Mitchell and Margaret White, both of North Charleston; two aunts, Georganna Hewayd and Isabell Ford; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
