Harriet Gamble Obituary

GAMBLE, Harriet MANNING Harriet Klugh Gamble, 82, widow of Samuel Wayne Gamble, Jr., died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at Tuomey Hospital in Sumter. Born August 22, 1926, in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Milwee and Hattie Lyon Klugh. She was a 1947 graduate of Converse College, a deacon and member of The Presbyterian Church at Manning, and a member of the Camelia Garden Club. Surviving are three daughters, Harriet Gamble Kay Molnar of Las Vegas, Nevada, Theresa Eleanor Gamble of Manning, and Louise Gamble Lou Murray of Manning; a son, Samuel Wayne Gamble III of Sumter; a sister, Louise Klugh Rankin of Anderson; five-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Milwee Klugh, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2008, in The Presbyterian Church at Manning, with the Rev. Dr. William J. Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in New Market Cemetery in Greeleyville. Pallbearers are Hamilton Reid Sherard Jr., David Alexander Molnar, Alton Hale McCullough Jr., Samuel Wayne Gamble, David Ford Gamble, and John Ridgill Gamble Jr. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday evening at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning. Memorials may be made to The Presbyterian Church at Manning, P.O. Box 207, Manning, SC 29102 or to Clarendon County Disabilities and Special Needs, P.O. Drawer 40, Manning, SC 29102.
