8/17/2009 I just learned of your loss over the weekend when I was in Eutawville. Ms. Virginia Morgan stopped by to let me know. I did not see an obit in the Orangeburg paper or I would certainly have attended the memorial service. I knew Ms. Hallie for over 30 hears and she was a wonderful, kind hearted, almost to fault, individual who truly loved her family. I still have a yellow planter on my desk that she brought me years ago and every time I look at it I think of Ms. Hallie. May God Bless each and every one of you.

The other half of my wonderful surrogate parents is now gone, my Uncle Richard and Aunt Boo have departed this life in Thy faith and fear. They are now together in a wonderful place. I thank them for a tremendous background in common sense, farming, religion, finance, and child rearing. I am now 65 years old and could not have made it this far were it not for my Aunt Boo. Thank you.

"Miss" Hallie was a wonderful lady with a big heart and true love for children. She always made sure we had fun when I played with Gabbe at their house--taking me to the dairy and making us matching gypsy and "wedding" dress-up dresses. I will miss knowing she's in this world. I'm thinking of you all today and keeping you in my prayers. Love, Martha Norris McNeill

I especially loved seeing "Miss Hallie" as a little girl when she would come to play bridge @ our house as a memeber of the Eutawville bridge club:) With deepest sympathy at this time of loss. Mary Elizabeth Norris Mitchell
