Harriet Allen Obituary

Harriet G. Allen Charleston - The relatives of Mrs. Harriet G. Allen will celebrate her life at a private funeral service on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Calvary Episcopal Church, 106 Line St., Charleston, SC 29403. The service will be by invitation only. Interment: Monrovia Cemetery. She is survived by her children: Mr. Barry Washington and Mr. Jamar Washington; step-children: Ms. Toye Allen and Mr. Harold Allen, Jr.; sister, Ms. Deborah Gailliard; sister-in-law, Mrs. Sylvia Gailliard; granddaughter, Regina Graham; step-granddaughter, Brittany Jenkins and a special granddaughter, Tequila Perry; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Viewing for Mrs. Allen will be on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at The William M. Smith Memorial Chapel, 2 Radcliffe St., Charleston, SC 29403. Masks are required for entry. To Debbie and the entire family. My heart is very heavy at this time from hearing of the passing of my dearest childhood friend. However I have the BLESSED ASSURANCE that she is in a better place. EARTH has no SORROW that HEAVEN cannot HEAL! Harriet and I were very good friends and even though we later lived many miles and STATES apart, we still kept in touch with each others. I would just like to extend my heart felt condolences to the family and tell to be encouraged. God is in control. I will always cherish the memories that Harriet and I shared.
