Harold Northcutt Obituary

Harold W. Northcutt MURRELLS INLET, SC - A graveside service for Mr. Harold Wyman Northcutt, 83, of Murrells Inlet, SC, who died Saturday, September 3, 2016, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Westview Memorial Park Cemetery, 2223 Kelleytown Road, Hartsville, SC. The Reverend Dr. B. Mike Alexander, Jr., of Belin Memorial United Methodist Church, Murrells Inlet, will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Northcutt, widower of Patricia Privette Northcutt, was born in McBee, SC, the son of the late Neal Wyman and Alma Blackwell Northcutt. He served in the United States Army and graduated in 1958 from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. He began his career at the Hartsville headquarters of Sonoco Products Co. and retired from the company after serving in multiple managerial positions in Mystic, CT, Holyoke, MA, Easton, PA, and Chester, VA before returning to the Hartsville location in 1975. He enjoyed fishing the Santee-Cooper lakes and attending Gamecock sporting events with his family and friends. He savored his retirement years at his home overlooking the scenic waters of Murrells Inlet and loved navigating his boats in the coastal waters of SC. Mr. Northcutt is survived by: son, Dr. Hugh Neal Northcutt (Melanie) of Blythewood, SC, their children, Justin Neal Northcutt (Allison) of Austin, TX and their son Dylan Hines Northcutt, Gillian Northcutt Carter (Jeff) of Cincinnati, OH, and BreAnne Eliza Northcutt Marini (Tim) of Asheville, NC; daughter, Anne Northcutt Hansen (Mark) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, their children, Thomas Wyman Copeland of Salt Lake City, UT, Sara Elizabeth Copeland and Darby Quinn Copeland, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mark Whittier Hansen, Jr. (Chelsea) of Dallas, TX and their daughter Henley Hansen, Frances Kendall Hansen of Euless, TX and her son Tatum Taifane; sisters, Elisabeth Northcutt Morgan and Jewel Northcutt Evans, both of Charleston, SC; loving companion and best friend, Patricia Sumner of Garden City, SC. The family especially wishes to thank the kind professionals of Tidelands Hospice, Caregivers of SC (Conway), especially Tina and Anna, and Dr. Jackie Epperson of Inlet Medical Associates and his caring staff.
