Harold Hickman Obituary


HICKMAN, Harold Harold Evon Hickman, 73, of Hanahan, SC, a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force died on November 10, 2007 at home surrounded by his family. Harold was born on January 8, 1934, in Coffee County, AL the son of Andy Doster Hickman and Gladys Peacock Hickman. He was a member of the former Charleston Heights Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School. Harold was a member and served as a deacon at Old Fort Baptist Church. He also served as treasurer for the Screven Baptist Association. Harold was a member of the Dorchester Masonic Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a 33rd degree Mason. He retired from DuPont Chemical after more than 20 years of service. Harold is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Nina Ann Clark Hickman of Hanahan, SC; two daughters, Denise J. Haight and her husband Mark of Hanahan, SC and Dee Anne L. Reaves and her husband Charlie of Summerville, SC; son, David H. Hickman and his wife Teresa of Johns Island, SC; brother, Jimmy Earl Hickman, of Poinciana, FL; sister, Dorothy Jeanette Moore of Enterprise, AL; and six grandchildren: Sullivan Beau Taft Reaves, Savannah M. Reaves, Robert E. Haight, Lauren M. Hickman, Tara B. Lewis and J. Cody Lewis; mother-in-law, Annie Martha Clark of Ariton, AL; one niece; two nephews; and a host of extended family members. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston. Funeral services will be held at Old Fort Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment with military honors will follow at a local cemetery (to be announced). Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Fund at Old Fort Baptist Church, 10505 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485. Nina and family,
Terry and I want you to know how deeply touched we are by Harold's passing. I thought of him as a true friend and brother in Christ. He will be greatly missed, but we can take comfort knowing he is no longer suffering and is with our Lord continuing to serve Him.
