Harold and I became friends on Kiawah several years ago after meeting during our regular exercise workouts at the Kiawah Sports Pavilion.

We shared personal and professional stories, which started decades apart, in New York City, and, from a professional standpoint, ended at the highest levels. Harold helped my think through a Med school deanship search, my project to learn to swim (which he told he he had once enjoyed, until a shoulder injury precluded that) and more.

I had the utmost admiration for his humility about his accomplishments and I think he found mine intriguing, too. We would grab lunch from time to time just to catch up on our lives.

I recall a chance encounter with some of their children and grandchildren at the grocery store in Kiawah, and remember sending Harold a note about the fortuitous connection!

I only learned about his and Jo Anns passing this week, after asking about Harold upon returning to the Sport Pavilion. I was saddened to know I will not see my friend again and share stories. I will miss Dr. Fallon.

Hal and Jo have been such dear friends since we first met in 1994. We have shared many good times, parties, dinners and the ownership of our sailboat. Jo and I played tennis together for years. We have shared the growth of our families and all their wonderful accomplishments. We were all saddened when they left the island, but knew that Bishop Gadsden was the right place for them at that time. They left a hole on our island, now a hole at BG and we know they have left a large hole never to be filled in all your families. We are sorry we missed the service at BG over Thanksgiving, but were out of town. We will come to JI Presbyterian Church to honor to wonderful, dear friends who will be sorely missed by all who knew them. Julie and Fritz Lorscheider

I knew Hal but not Jo. I did not see Harold often during the fifty years I knew him- usually at chairs of medicine or deans' meetings and of course the "liver" meetings. He was knowledgeable and warm but most of all he was a gentleman. He contributed greatly to our society.

Hal and Jo were two of the most inspirational, intelligent and warm people I've ever been lucky enough to know. There is no doubt they they leave this world a better place. I'm so happy to have known these two vibrant souls.

Hal and Jo were an extraordinary couple. Nick and I were fortunate to spend many fun times with them, sampling new recipes, drinking good wine, solving the problems of the world and just laughing. We know how devoted they were to each other and how proud they were of their children and their families whom they loved so much. Jo and Hal were an inspiration to us all. We send our heartfelt condolences to all of the Fallon family.
