Darlene GIRSBERGER Obituary

GIRSBERGER, Darlene Our wonderful and much loved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grand-mother and friend was taken from us Sunday, December 16, 2012. Darlene Miller Joralemon Girsberger was born January 19, 1929 in Maple Lake, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Reuben and Alice (Denson) Miller. She began her working life in Seattle, Washington with the Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company and retired in Spokane after 36 years of service in 1984. In 1948, she married Fred Joralemon and together they raised their family of four sons. They lived in Seattle until 1965 when they moved to Spokane. Fred died in 1979. In 1984, Darlene was married to Keith Girsberger. They were married until Keith's death in 1996. Since 2005, she has resided at Fairwood Retirement Village, and later Fairwood Assisted Living. Her family is very grateful for the wonderful care she received from all the staff at Fairwood. With her husband, Keith, she was active in many fraternal organizations and charitable programs. She loved her collectibles and had an amazing eye for design and interior decoration. Many happy years were spent at the family summer home at Loon Lake. But most of all she loved her family, and her family loved her. Darlene is survived by her four sons, Gary (Robin) Joralemon of Spokane, Terry (Gloria) Joralemon of Selah, Mark (Jeanette) Joralemon of Deer Park and Greg (Sandi) Joralemon of Lynnwood and step-daughter, Tammy (Brady) Jens of Genova, NV. She is also survived by her sisters, Joy Wanless and Ina (James) D'Aoust of Pine City, MN and Sharon (Larry) Stingley of Staples, MN. She was predeceased by one sister (Doris Miller), two brothers (Harvey and Bill Miller) and one granddaughter (Kristina Joralemon McUne). She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20 at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 505 W. St. Thomas More Way. She will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery.
