Guy Taylor Obituary

Dear Kurt and family, it is so very hard to loose a parent and grandfather. As the strong figure in our life it is crippling to move on without them! I am so very sorry for his loss on earth but I know that Gods plans and job for him in heaven are big! Know that you are here on earth to finish whatever he may left unfinished and that he will watch over and guide you.

As the Director of Community Engagement for Charleston Animal Society I speak on behalf of the staff and animals in our care. We are eternally grateful for your choice to honor Mr. Taylor with donations in his name to our shelter. Please know that your generous thoughtful gift will leave a legacy of hope for animals in our community! Laura, Dee,Kurt, and Mindy, Bill and I are so sorry about the passing of Guy. He was a treasured friend. And our connection goes way back. Guy delighted in telling me that his father gave me my first spanking as the attending physician at my delivery. Also, he worked with my brother Jack Moore at Tennessee Eastman in Kingsport. Please know that we are thinking of your family with much love.

How lucky I was to count Guy Taylor as my friend. Though distanced by time, Big Guy was and will always be one of the most stand-up individuals I have ever had the pleasure to know. Forthright and true, you couldn't hope for a more dependable and supportive friend. My heart goes out to Laura, Dee, Kurt and Mindy and the rest of his family as I know how deeply he will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Guy was the epitome of a public servant, dedicated family man and mentor to so many of us. Were it not for his encouragement as North Charleston alums, I would have never run for City Council.

Know that if I were not out of town with family health issues, I would be there Thursday. Nevertheless my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dan & I are so sorry. He and Laura have been a joy to us this past year and we will surely miss him. Prayers for the family that God will heal your hearts.

I new Guy from our conversations on Wednesday night's at the German Friendly Society. He was always pleasant and fun to be associated with. He will be missed by a lot of his fellow members, friends and family. My thoughts and prayers are with the Taylor family.
