Guy Marcot Obituary

Just sending all my love. Loved growing up with him and have some great memories.

Dear Teddy and family,
Ten years of living without your beloved Guy is a difficult milestone.
I am thinking of you and your family. Having this tribute is a nice salve for marking your loss.

Prayers are with you all today. I remember many fun times together when we were younger.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Guy's passing. He and I were very close during our years at Cray Research. Teddy et al, you have our sincerest sympathy.

This picture is how I remember Guy.

He was a joy to work with when I met him in July of 1960 at the Colemont Building in Silver Spring working for Bill Cahill and Dr. Robert Jastrow in the Theoretical Division.

Guy provided great support for his employers and NASA / GSFC during the GSFC acquisition of various supercomputers.

Cheryl and I wish to add our condolences to the long list of people who were fortunate to know Guy for many years. It is true that our paths have not crossed very much since you moved to SC, but our memories of Guy as a trusted co-worker and valued friend remain as strong as ever. No doubt your life without him at your side will be difficult, but hopefully your memories will bring a smile to your face more often than tears to your eyes. His infectious smile is forever etched in my memory.

We just received an email today from Pat Brockway informing us of Guy's passing. Please accept our sincere condolences. We remember spending time with you and Guy at Sanibel Island many years ago at a Cray meeting. It was there that we learned that you were from the Pittsburgh area and went to school with one of my frat brothers at W&J (Fred Tagliaferi). Guy and I worked on several procurements at Cray and SGI. I always enjoyed the time we spent on these projects and learned a lot from Guy in the process. When SGI relieved us of our duties, I remember we both interviewed with Sun Micro on the same day. Guy subsequently joined Compaq while I took a job with Sun. I think those jobs were not nearly as rewarding as the years we spent at Cray. I am glad I had the opportunity to know Guy. He was a terrific person.

Guy was truly a warm, kind and gentle man. He will be missed and although we didn't visit much, when we did he was wonderful to us. My cousin could not have chosen a better man to marry.

Being a good friend to his son, Mathew, Guy welcomed me into his family with open arms and a big smile. My heart goes out to Teddy, Mathew, Monica, and the entire family.

He was a wonderful man and I enjoyed knowing him while I was growing up. I have known since I was in 2nd grade. You are with God now.
