Grippie Lee Lawson GOOSE CREEK - Grippie Lee Lawson, 87, of Goose Creek, SC, husband of Carolyn Johnson Lawson, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 14, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 in the Calvary Church of The Nazarene, 541 Red Bank Road at 6:30 pm. Interment, Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel. Grippie was born July 3, 1935 in Conway, SC, son of the late Hardie Lee Lawson and the late Blondell Richardson Lawson. He was a true entrepreneur. He loved being with his family, classic cars, fishing, fireworks and family time. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Lawson; two sons, Grippie Lee (Emilie) Lawson, Jr. of Goose Creek, SC and Billy Brian (Dana) Lawson of Moncks Corner; two daughters, Elise Lawson Wisner and Mignon High of Goose Creek, SC; 14 grandchildren: Kathryn Marie (Bradley) Stuckey, Grippie Lee (Alicia) Lawson III, Trevor Richardson Lawson, Sean Davis Lawson, Jaylen Hines Lawson, Corey Wisner, Noah Wisner, Carolyn Noelle Wisner, Marie (Chris Sosa) Wisner, Sylvia (Brandon) Pilger, Kathryn Elizabeth (Terry) Tuten, Brian Harley Lawson, Robert High, Christina (Casey) Williamson; 15 great-grandchildren: Asher Charles Stuckey, Cannon Lee Stuckey, Grippie Lee Lawson IV, Elouise Ann Lawson, Carson Luke Lawson, Ellis Richardson Lawson, Sofia Marie Sosa, Thomas Curtis Pilger, Teyha Nicole Lawson, Delainey Tuten, Keely High, Kayla Beck, Casey Williamson, Jr., Raeylynn Williamson, and Dominic Williamson; brother, Bobby (Dorothy) Lawson of Galivants Ferry, SC; four sisters: Hazel Edwards of Conway, SC, Lib Johnson of Loris, SC, Susie (Edward) Harrelson of Galivants Ferry, SC, and Wanda (Dennis) Cox of Galivants Ferry, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Lawson and Gene Lawson, sisters, Ladosta Rabon and Mildred Fowler. Mr Lawson was my tax preparer for many years. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. I loved looking at his collection of Hess trucks when visiting his office. My condolences to his family and friends.
