Gregory Allen Messenger Summerville - Gregory Allen Messenger, 55, of Summerville, husband of Susan Messenger, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at his residence. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Sunday, November 5, 2017, from 6 to 8 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, November 6, 2017, at 11 o'clock at Bethany United Methodist Church (Spell Chapel). Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd., Summerville, SC 29485. Gregory was born on August 29, 1962, in Morgantown, WV, son of Virgil L. Messenger and Brenda J. Messenger of Morgantown, WV. Mr. Messenger was dedicated to his career in the automotive industry. He was General Manager for Dick Smith Automotive Group in Moncks Corner, SC, since 2003. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling to the beach. He was also a loyal fan to his favorite football team, the West Virginia Mountaineers. Survivors including his wife, Susan, are: two daughters: Haley Messenger of Mt. Pleasant and Allison Messenger of Summerville; one son: Chandler Messenger of Summerville; two brothers: Bob Messenger of California and Ron Messenger (Denise) of Morgantown, WV; one sister: Carla Shuman (Jeff) of Arlington, VA. He was preceded in death by one brother: Richard Messenger. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society 269 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
