Grainger Lanneau Obituary

Grainger Lanneau Warner Robins, GA - TSgt. Grainger Steele Lanneau, Sr., USAF (Ret.) passed away on January 2, 2021 after a short battle with COVID. He was born on September 8, 1937 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late John Grainger and Cressy Lanneau. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years of honorable service. Originally from Summerville, South Carolina, he was stationed throughout the United States, the Philippines, Crete, and Japan during his years of service. His last assignment was as a Telecom System and Equipment Supervisor for the 5th Combat Communications Group at Robins Air Force Base, GA. Grainger was also an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman. He had a great respect for nature. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Patricia Miller Lanneau of Warner Robins and sister, Elizabeth Lanneau Cox of Edisto/Summerville; children, Dr. Grainger S. Lanneau, Jr. (Marion), John Miller Lanneau (Allison L.), Nikki Lanneau Calhoun (Brian); 12 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Grainger also leaves behind his devoted boxer, Saddy Brown. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery, GA.
