Gracie Wood Obituary

WOOD, Gracie Gracie Anne Bush Wood, a resident of Dothan passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Henry County Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was 67. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Henry County Nursing Home with the Rev. John Withrock officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Cir., Suite 110, Dothan, AL, 36301. Mrs. Wood was born on January 31, 1941 in Tampa, FL and lived the early years of her life in Charleston, SC and graduated from Chicora High School in 1959. Mrs. Wood resided in Dothan since 1993 and was employed with Flowers Hospital as a unit secretary for 9 years. She was of the Lutheran faith. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents Carl D. Bush and Zytell Brookins Bush, and her husband Robert S. Wood, Jr. Survivors include her sons, Robert S. Wood, III and his wife Beverly of Snellville, GA, Douglas C. Wood, Sr. and his wife Julie of Newnan, GA, David W. Wood, Sr. and his wife Jackie of Waleska, GA; grandchildren, David W. Wood, Jr., Timothy P. Wood, Douglas C. Wood, Jr.; sisters, Carline Spier of Quincy, FL, Elaine Withrock and her husband John of Dothan, Priscilla Money and her husband Coy of Abbeville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Barbara Muth of Goose Creek, SC, William E.
