Gloria Murray Obituary

Gloria Cook Murray MT. PLEASANT - Mrs. Gloria Cook "Cookie" Murray, 80, wife of John E. Murray, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Hospice of Charleston. Mrs. Murray was born August 22, 1931, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Pearly and Elise Floyd Cook. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and the MUSC School of Nursing. Mrs. Murray served in the US Air Force and was a member of the Snee Farm Garden Club and the Bridge Club. Surviving, in addition to her husband John, of Mt. Pleasant, are: 2 sons, John Arthur Murray, of Mt. Pleasant, and Michael Van Alen (Susan) Murray, of Chapel Hill, NC; and 4 grandchildren, Steven Michael Murray, Andrew Ellington Murray, William John Murray, and Christopher Canada Murray. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Saturday, November 5, 2011, in the Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home of Kingstree.
