Gloria Levangie Obituary

LEVANGIE, Gloria Gloria Rebecca Burke Levangie, 72, of Bonneau, SC, died Thursday in a Charleston hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning, December 20, 2004 in the St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church, Moncks Corner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center Health Sciences Foundation, 86 Jonathan Lucas Street, Charleston, SC 29425. Directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, Moncks Corner. Mrs. Levangie was born January 5, 1932 in Sumter, SC, a daughter of Hilliard R. Burke and Chessie Truluck Burke. She was a member of the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband William D. Levangie; a daughter, Alice Jackson and her husband Walter of Summerville; three sons, W. Michael Levangie and his wife, Amy of North Charleston, Tom D. Levangie and John R. Levangie and his wife Peggy, all of Summerville; two sisters, Peggy Samotis of Lexington and Norma Lee Fann of Hartsville; a brother, George W. Burke of Sumter; and four grandchildren.
