Gloria Jones Obituary

Gloria Ann Holt Jones BAMBERG - Mrs. Gloria Ann Holt Jones, 66, of Bamberg, SC, wife of the late Randolph Burris Jones, died on December 30, 2009 at home after an extended illness. She was born on August 15, 1943 in Columbus, GA. The beloved daughter of Charles L. Holt and Elizabeth H. Benjamin of PA. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a loving homemaker. She loved her flowers, gardening, reading watching tv and she especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jones raised five foster children and influenced the lives of many young children and adults in her lifetime. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth H. Benjamin of PA; her stepmother, Pauline E. Holt of Summerville, SC; her brothers, Michael Holt of Gaffney, SC, Kenneth Holt of Summerville, SC; her sister, Charlene H. Fields (Dickie) of Moncks Corner, SC; two children, Richard C. Hicks (Christi) of Summerville, SC, Stacey H. Green of Tennessee; grandchildren, Elizabeth Stillwell, Columbia, SC, Sara Stillwell of Bamberg, SC, Randolph Stillwell, North Charleston, SC, Joshua Brooks, Lake City, SC, Megan Hicks, Goose Creek, SC, Gloria P. Hicks, Summerville, SC, Rosemary Hill, Summerville, SC, Jade Arnesen, Longview, TX, Richard Garret, Summerville, SC. She had seven great-grandchildren and was predeceased by two brothers; Dean Holt and Charles Holt, Jr. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Trinity United Methodist Church, 11761 Heritage Hwy., Bamberg, SC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to any branch of South Carolina Bank Trust for Gloria Ann Jones. Visit our guestbook at www.postandcourier.com/deaths
