Lolaso sorry I didn't keep in touch with Glenn and that I never have met you. He and I worked together teaching journalism at Winthrop in the late 1980s. I'll never forget him. And unbeknownst to him, I learned a lot about teaching and dealing with students from Glenn. I'll never forget him. So sorry for your loss.

Glenn was a one-of-a-kind friend and colleague at the newspaper I worked at for more than 40 years, and I has tremendous respect for him. He was there when I arrived, and we both moved on to a different newsroom at one point, with Glenn always a perfect example of the curmudgeonly, hardshell crab who was wonderfully kind on the inside. And always with a sharp sense of humor and genuine warmth. I know the music in heaven just got a whole lot more fun now that Glenn's there. My sincere condolences.

There was nobody like him. Glenn and I met as newspaper competitors and then colleagues beginning more than 40 years ago. I learned a good deal from him about reporting, and also about Z-Cars and the New Black Eagle Jazz Band. Classic jazz and fast cars were never far from his mind. Most important, I learned to appreciate what it means to have a good friend. His gruff exterior was paper-thin. In reality, he accepted people of all stripes and focused on the good in them. Don't we all wish we could do that? I cannot count the favors, large and small, that he did for me and my family. Wherever he went, Glenn got to know a lot of people, and there are many of us here in Western Massachusetts who still remember him with the deepest affection and admiration, even after all these years. Rest in peace, good friend.

Such a huge loss for his family, friends and the community. Glenn had an unmatchable dry wit, a clever sense of humor, a keen sense of real-world journalism and a tremendous heart for people. I was blessed to know him for more than 30 years and am really shaken by this news. Prayers for his wife and family.

Wishing that it weren't so and sending condolences to his family. Glenn was an original, his own person and a special soul. Whenever I become aware that another Marine has answered his last muster, I am reminded by words in our Marines' Hymn that tells us, the streets of Heaven are guarded by United States Marines. Stack arms and rest your pack, Marine, and then take your post. You still have important work to do. Semper Fi, and carry on.

Glenn became my friend in 1973. Back in the day when we were intemperate, he agreed to manage my campaign for Ted Kennedys seat in the Senate. Fortunately, my campaign never moved beyond that night in my living room. It came to nothing, and Kennedys magnificent Senatorial career continued unabated. But my friendship with Glenn also lasted through the years. When my wife died in 2018, Glenn went out of his way to offer comfort and relief. I will miss him.

I was so very sad to hear of Glenn's sudden death. Peter and I knew him because of our mutual membership in the British Car Club of Charleston and especially because of our shared enjoyment of our Bugeye Sprites. I always appreciated his friendliness and his welcoming me as an equal. I will truly miss seeing him at our meetings and outings.

I got to know Glenn thru the British Car Club of Charleston when Annie and I joined with our Bugeye Sprite. Glenn, a long-time Bugeye owner, quickly welcomed us in. And he warned us to let him know when his never-ending stream of Bugeye minutia was getting irritating! Glenn would periodically organize "ice cream runs" -- wonderful drives across Johns Island in our Little British Cars for a hot dog lunch at the soda fountain in Kiawah's Freshfield drug store -- that somehow never seemed to involve ice cream. He always spearheaded the BCCC's participation in the annual St Patty's Day parade and he proudly drove his Bugeye -- air horn in frequent use -- in the Mt Pleasant Christmas parade. Glenn was a good man and a good friend. I will miss him greatly.
