While going to high school in Birmingham, I worked in Doc´s laboratory at Children´s Hospital, part-time during the school year and full-time over the summers. It was a great experience for a kid interested in science, and it set the stage for my entire career, culminating at CDC. May God Bless.

For many years I have thought about and wondered about my biochem professor, my mentor and my friend and his wife Mary Jo. He was special to me at UC and he and his wife were special in Eaton Ohio. RIP Doc.
